My Jesus, I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament.
I love You above all things,
and I desire to receive You into my soul.
Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart.
I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You.
Never permit me to be separated from You.
Amen.

Holy Name of Jesus Bereavement Ministry is pleased to host the following presentation:
Please join us in-person on Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2023 from 7:00pm to 9:00pm at HNJ for a presentation titled: Understanding Grief as a Journey & Navigating Difficult Times
Gae Savino, LCSW, CT, a New York State licensed clinical social worker & certified death, dying & bereavement counselor will speak with us about grief as a universal experience, yet a unique, individual journey.
During the presentation, Gae will identify the types of grief, the array of normal mixed grief emotions & offer strategies on how to best manage difficult times. She will also explore grief as a form of love as well as the whole-body impact of grief. She will suggest strategies on how to best adapt to and integrate grief into our lives as we find meaning. Grief as a transformative gift will be discussed. Additionally, Gae will converse about the role and importance of bereavement support groups as a safe space to share, find comfort and learn skills to help navigate difficult times throughout your grief journey. Questions and answers will be
entertained.
We invite you to register in advance. Please contact, Virginia Andriola at [email protected] by January 25, 2023. All individuals over the age of 21 are invited to attend. We look forward to your participation as you travel on this journey.

Join us for The Eucharist: Discovering the Mass in the Bible beginning on Monday, February 20, 2023 from 7pm to 8:30pm and continuing every Monday for 10 weeks in the Fr. Dave Room.
Please use the signup sheets in the entrances of the church.
The Eucharist: Discovering the Mass in the Bible. The Eucharist is the center-point of the Mass – but why?
“The Lamb of God,” “The Bread of Life,” “The Body and the Blood of Christ”… these are phrases we know from the Mass. But do we understand what they mean in the greater and deeper context of Scripture and Church teaching? Acclaimed author and teacher Dr. Brant Pitre rigorously digs down to the biblical roots of the Eucharist, through its foreshadowing in the miraculous events of the Old Testament, the Gospels, and Apostolic teaching.
As part of the National Eucharistic revival, we’ll discover firsthand how Christ’s Body and Blood are an integral and wondrous part of God’s plan for our salvation. We’ll explore questions such as:
·Why does the Church call the Eucharist the “source and summit of the Christian life?”
·How are hints of the Eucharist seen throughout the Old Testament
·Explore more deeply what the “Lamb of God” means
·What did Jesus mean when he spoke of Himself as “the bread which comes down from heaven?”
·What is the connection between the Old Testament celebration of Passover and Jesus’s Last Supper with his disciples—and how does that impact the Mass as we know it?
·How did the Apostles put into practice Christ’s command to “Do this in memory of me?”
Wherever you may be in your faith regarding the mystery of the Eucharist, you will be profoundly moved by Dr. Pitre’s study of the Eucharist.
We are pleased to announce HNJ has created a Bereavement Ministry with trained counselors for those seeking a faith-based bereavement support group to participate.
On February 28 at 7:00pm in the Fr. Dave Room, there will be an informational
session offered by the Bereavement Ministry for anyone interested in attending a bereavement support group. The support group will begin the following week and run for six weeks thereafter. Additional information to follow in the upcoming weeks.
