Four of our parishioners, Maureen McLoughlin, Sr. Gertrude, Maggie Hoffman and Jim Collins, will be returning to Jamaica on a weeklong mission to work with the Brothers and Sisters of the Missionaries of the Poor. They will be assisting in providing care to the physically and emotionally challenged adults and children who have been abandoned and are now in the care of the Missionaries.
The Missionaries rely on generous donations to pay for in bulk items, such as diapers and food. Any donations to support this cause will be gratefully appreciated. Please place your donation in an envelope marked "Mission Trip" in collection basket or drop off your donation at the rectory office. All money collected will go directly to the Missionaries of the Poor.
Let's send our four parishioners off with our thoughts, prayers and support!
Mission Updates
March 9, 2020
Dear Parishioners,
Our Mission Trip to Jamaica with the Missionaries of the Poor has been cancelled due to the coronavirus. We received the information the day before we were supposed to leave. The Missionaries do not want to put any volunteers at risk nor their residents in Jamaica who are medically fragile. They are suspending all volunteers from their site until at least May.
We will be sending them all the money many of you have so generously donated to help in their efforts. Thank you all for your prayers and support. We are very disappointed we will not be going at this time, but in light of this illness the Missionaries had to make a difficult choice which was best for them and all their many volunteers from around the world.
Blessings to all.
Sincerely, Maureen McLoughlin Sister Gertrude Maggie Hoffman Jim Collins
