The Ronald McDonald House of the Greater Hudson Valley provides families with critically ill and traumatically injured children an atmosphere of comfort, hope and courage, keeping them close to the care and resources they need.
Holy Name of Jesus volunteers participate in The Meals that Heal Program giving family’s one less thing to worry about during their stay at Ronald McDonald House while their child is being treated in the hospital. HNJ volunteers give their time in the House’s kitchen to prepare brunch, lunch, or dinner for the guest families. Funding for the meals is sponsored by Social Concerns.
A call for volunteers will be published in the parish bulletin and in the parish calendar on the website. If you would like to volunteer, contact Maureen McLoughlin at 914.946.9334 or email M[email protected]. Volunteers are assigned on a first come, first serve basis.
10.29.22 - Thanks so much to all our parishioners who helped to make a dinner at the Ronald McDonald House for families who were staying there. We prepared a meal of barbeque chicken, mashed potatoes, carrots, cornbread, and a cookies and cream dessert. Everyone who walked by while we were cooking commented on how great everything smelled! And several families who ate while we were there all said it tasted delicious!!
Many thanks to our wonderful Chef and her helpers, Chris and Alex Ronco, and Angela Giustino for helping. The hot meal at the House was much appreciated by the families after a long day at the hospital with their sick children.
