Our mission is to lend our hearts, minds and hands to the ongoing celebration of our Catholic Faith and devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary through recitation of the Rosary, works of charity and helping to meet the needs of our parish.
Ladies of the Parish...if you are not a member and are interested in joining, you are most welcome to come to a meeting. Please note we have only six brief meetings a year - September, October, November, March, April and May. There is no commitment required; you are welcome to do as much or as little as you wish with annual dues of $15 per year.
Our Rosarians are involved in several fund raising events – a bake sale & basket raffle at Christmas and Eastertime, and some other possible surprises! Our efforts are used to help support various parish ministries throughout the year.

Our History
In 1935 the Rosary Altar Society of Holy Name (the “Society”) was initiated by Fr. Vincent DiMichele. One of the founding members of the Society was Mrs. William Paul. She was a pivotal member of the Society serving on the Board for many years as President for 2 separate terms. The first President was Mrs. Gene Lynch and together with Mrs. Paul they initiated many activities that are still in place today.
At that time in the history of the parish, the church was located at the top of the hill on North Kensico Rd. Soon to be known as the chapel on the hill. The meetings were held in the basement hall of the chapel. The Society held many “socials” for the benefit of the parish which provided financial aid to the church. The main responsibility of the Rosary Altar Society was the decoration and adoration of the Altar and Sanctuary. This included cleaning of the altar, maintaining the candles, cleaning altar linens and fresh flowers.
Over the years, as the Valhalla community grew, Holy Name of Jesus enjoyed the same growth. Present day Society members have carried on past traditions and are also involved with other ministries of the parish. Society members are always ready and willing to lend a helping hand towards the betterment of Holy Name of Jesus Church.
