Toiletry Sort Thanks!Thanks so much to all who helped to sort toiletries last Saturday afternoon. About 25 volunteers helped to sort soap, shampoo, shaving cream, toothpaste. Once all the toiletries were sorted, we assembled 380 toiletry bags, which were then given to various organizations helping the homeless-
- Midnight Run in Dobbs Ferry,
- Open Arms Shelter (Men's)
- Samaritan's House (Women's shelter) in White Plains,
- The large VOA (Volunteer of America) Homeless Shelter at Grasslands.
Each bag held soap, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, toothpaste, toothbrush, deodorant, comb, washcloth, razor, shaving cream, and hand sanitizer.The various agencies were very grateful for our generosity. Open Arms in particular said they had no toiletries left, so our donation was a timely blessing.
Thanks also to all our parishioners who donate toiletries throughout the year. Keep them coming!!
Special thanks to Dr. Virginia Turner of Valhalla Dental for donating toothpaste.
Needed toiletry items that were not donated were purchased using money obtained through the Social Concerns 50/50 raffle. Thanks so much for your support!! -
